Resource Fairs
What is a Resource Fair? The Offender Resource Fair is your chance to participate in an important event that will assist inmates in gaining crucial information about accessing existing community resources before they are released. Participants will be able to set up booths where they can provide information about their services and answer questions from inmates who will be attending the fair and ‘browsing’ the booths. This event was developed by one of our Transition from Prison to Community (TPC) workgroups. TPC was a statewide initiative focused on transitioning inmates back to the community in a safe, effective manner following incarceration with the Department of Corrections. Membership in the workgroup behind this event consists of state, local, and community leaders who have an interest in public safety. TPC has identified several issues that impede successful inmate transition, among them, lack of awareness and access to the many community resources available to offenders. With resources fairs, we are able to close that gap. Inmates will have the opportunity to speak with providers face to face. The event is much like a job fair. Each provider will have a table and inmates will have the opportunity to visit each provider to gain information. When and Where? We have three resource fairs a year, rotating between the five Department of Correction facilities. Typically, resource fairs are in April/May, June/July and September. 2019 Schedule Wyoming Women's Center (Lusk) - April 24th, 2019 Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp (Newcastle) - June 5th, 2019 Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (Torrington) - August 21st, 2019 | Deputy Reentry Program Manager Severn Shores Work 307.532.6855 Email severn.shores@wyo.gov Reentry Programming Assistant Nelly Hernandez WMCI 7076 RD 55F Torrington, WY 82240 Work 307.532.6600 ext 225 Email nelly.hernandez@wyo.gov Once you have completed your Resource Fair Clearance Form, please fax to 307.532.6655 or scan and email to nelly.hernandez@wyo.gov You must be cleared by DOC prior to attending any Resource Fair.
